Yes, I know it will be freezing but we are scheduled to take my S2 to tour the campus on Friday.
Is there anything specific that we should make sure we see or do while on campus? We are leaving shortly after tour as we are going to visit oldest son at Midd. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks
Asking current students about their experience is always a good idea. I found that they all liked it, but that was in the fall; in the freezing cold, they may have a different opinion. Further, if you are concerned about Greek life, talking to some students about it (both affiliated and not) could help you be less concerned about it. Lou’s, near the Green, is a common place for students to eat, or so I’ve heard. Maybe stop in on a class.
Depends on what you’re looking to see.
Baker-Berry (our main library) is pretty cool to check out (although its already part of the tour).
I recomennd you stop by the DEN (Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network) which is Dartmouth’s new venture incubator on campus that is actually so cool if you’re interested in anything entrepreneurial (or even if you aren’t).
Collis, a student union of sorts, or the Hop, performing arts center, will give you an interesting perspective on the vibe of campus and student life, although they will be crowded if you’re visiting during the day.
Sitting in on a class would be really cool–ask your tour guide for more info about this because I’m not sure if its a thing or not.
As SeeTheDawn mentioned, Lous has pretty good food (it’s a breakfast place though). The best place in my opinion on campus is The Pine, which is located in the Hanover Inn. This is where we can take our professors to lunch on the college’s dime once a term.
Can’t go wrong with anything though, even just wandering around campus. Have a wonderful visit, hope you like our college!
Thanks very much for the responses
My son will definitely want to check out the student center
Always nice hearing from a current student
No love for Murray’s on the Green? I’m wanting a Murray Burger right now. Best food in town (in my not-so-humble opinion) is that little place off the parking lot back behind Starbucks.
