I am already planning an information session and tour and ima call wednesday if there is any way to getr an interview done even though im suppose to call 2 weeks prior. Any other words of advice to do while im down there.

Oooh.

Residential Colleges
Fondren Library
The lobby of the engineering building
the Mech.En. lab
specific programs you like (Sheperd, Baker Institute)
A faculty member in an academic interest (you'll learn a lot, and Rice's application asks you who you've contacted at Rice. An inside contact might help, so arrange this in advance)
Rice Village if you want,
American Apparel (sp.)--good trendy clothes--a nationwide chain that has one of its few shops near Rice.
Some students
MetroRail

Hey which areas are the engineering buildings?
Any chance I can taste the foods

Duncan Hall and a lot of the buildings in north campus. There is an engineering quad that is pretty noticeable.

ANY Other ADVICE

According to Rice's "2006 Summer Housing Agreement", food service is available @ Will Rice commons M-F (hours vary) and the Student Center food service is open M-F for for breakfast & lunch.

If you like this sort of thing, there are some pretty cool resale shops in the Montrose area. They're pretty much on the same street.

I highly recommend walking the entire campus, weather permitting, it's really beautiful.
