I'm going to be visiting Wellesley in mid-August. Do you guys have any suggestions for things to do in Boston with my family? We're coming from pretty far away (Alaska), so we definitely want to do as much as possible. Any Wellesley restaurant suggestions? I hope everything goes well. Is anybody else visiting this summer?

Thanks,
Victoria

Wellesley restaurants: Altastrada (Italian), Blue Ginger (Asian, pricey), Amarin/Lemon Thai (Thai)

Boston:
-Historical: Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall (also has lots of shops and restaurants)
-Parks: Boston Commons & Frog Pond, Botanical Gardens (these are right next to each other); also have swan boat rides in the summer for only a few $ per person
-Tours: there are tons of bus tours that drive around and show you the highlights; the Duck Tour is really cool since it drives you around and then turns into a boat and takes you on the water for a bit but it’s pretty expensive imo
-Shopping: Newbury Street, The Prudential Center, Cambridgeside Galleria (on Cambridge side…)
-Harvard Square has tons of restaurants and shops. You can just wander around and see what it’s like, and Harvard is right there too.

The mall in Natick (3-4 miles from Wellesley) is huge and worth visiting if you are into shopping. We stayed at the Courtyard on Speen Street next to it when visited Wellesley, and could see Neiman Markus from our window :)

If you are thinking about staying in Boston and renting a car, check the hotels’ websites for parking rates, they could run $30-40/night! Parking in Boston is a pain and costs $$$. We walked all over and used the T - cheap and good exercise, too.

The locals recommended Legal Seafoods. Our dinner was nice, but I’ve had better seafood (if you are from Alaska, the same may apply to you). I second checking Harvard square - it has some nice dining options.

Largest mall in New England!!

Second this hotel – great location, easy access to shopping and the college, competitive prices.
