Has anyone out there visited both of these in the same day? Is that enough time to get a sense of the school (and possibly meet with a coach) and the surrounding town or is it better to do each in a separate day?

Separate day.

I recently did both. It was a Saturday, so there were less tours available. I went to Williams for the info session and tour first thing, and then went to just the tour of Amherst. I wish I’d been able to catch an info session there as I believe it may have caused me to like the school more, but what’s done is done. I definitely got a sense of the schools and the town, having eaten small meals in both after the tours, but it’s up to you and where you’re coming from.

It’s pretty hard to get a sense of a school in a measly 2-hour visit. If you are strongly considering both (like I did), I’d definitely recommend two separate days. If possible, spend the night there with a student.
