Visual Communications Major

Hi Folks,
My son, (junior year) is looking for a Visual Communication Major, like the one offered by University of Delaware. I stumbled upon U Del. see below:

"The BFA in Visual Communications is a highly competitive program with controlled enrollment designed for students who specifically plan to enter advertising design, graphic design, applied photography, interactive media, or illustration. Students concentrate on acquiring the creative, technical, social, and organizational skills necessary to establish a career path in the commercial world. Students continuing in the BA degree will study a foreign language in addition to their studio work, providing the opportunity for a more broad-based exploration of the liberal arts."

Any other schools that come to mind that have this type of combination? Or something similar? He has a strong interest in photography, graphic arts, and marketing. Any suggestions? He'd like to stay on the east coast. Strong B+ with college prep classes, no ap, and a strong art/photography portfolio. Varisty athlete and very involved.

I’m actually looking into visual communications as well. I applied to UDel and WashU for their Communications Design major. I’ve heard of programs at Lehigh, UMiami and Drexel, and American as well.

Let me know if you find any others!

Syracuse has a Communications Design program. Don’t know if that is the same thing though.

Check out the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL. Not exactly where you want it to be, and maybe not exactly your program, but I think it’s worth checking out.

Thanks for all the leads!!
