VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)

Ok so I'm interested in volunteering for the VITA program (I'm sure you all know what that is) for 2013 (2012 returns). I know its probably a little early to start thinking about this since its only May right now but I figured I should plan ahead. The problem is that I have absolutely no idea how to sign up for this program or anything. I've googled it and can't really find any information on volunteering. Does anyone here know how I would go about doing this?

Thanks in advance

You will find a 1-800 number at this link…, you can call and ask…

Where do you live? If you live in NY I can help.

Also, I found that VITA wasn’t that helpful in terms of my resume. None of the recuiters seemed interested in it. The only time they asked me a question about it was when they asked if it was a mandatory program for accounting majors because everyone else had it on their resume.

VITA takes one line on my resume now…
