I went to the tryout yesterday, but I did not realize my physical had expired ( I thought it worked for an entire year, not a school year). Well, the second round of tryouts are today, and I got my physical this morning, so I can do it. I talked to the coach, and she thinks it is fine. However, it is very tight, meaning many girls are trying out, so I might not make it. HOwever, she has already offered my the position of manager if I don't make it.

I am dissapointed though. 10-12 kids are allowed onto Varsity, and there are 10 people who can only be on varsity, becasue they are too old. I know I am better than one of them, and I would beat her, but the coach already said I am a "weaker passer." Also, some of the sophmores will move up, so I might not get a spot. I need to do amazing today, or I won't make it. Lucky for me, I have been practicing passing and setting all summer, so I think I have a chance. I will find out by Monday if I make it!

@Earthquake, We don't have any boys teams at the rec volleyball. I would have to go over the mountain to Louden County or even Fairfax. So yeah, I have thought of that, and I will pursue it if I don't make the team.

Oh God. I did not do very well today. But the last tryout is Monday. I think I mihgt have a chance, but only if I dominate the Serving and Spiking section, both of which I am not great at. :(

I am so happy. I might not be able to play in games, but she said I made the team. She said I will only be able to play back row, but that is my specialty, so I see no problem.

That's awesome!!! I'm going to volleyball camp on Wednesday, which is tomorrow since it's past midnight here, and then on the 18th begins tryouts and preseason. Our school sucks, and other than 6 of my competitors, so do the volleyball players. Of course, I'm trying out for JV since I'm in 9th grade, so even less worry. ALSO! I'm a rare setter. I have one other girl in my grade who is a setter, and she has only played 2 seasons of school volleyball while I've played 4 of school and club.
Wow. That sounds so conceited... I'm sure that almost everyone with some semi-talent will get a place, since only 15+ girls will try out for JV and she takes 10-13 girls.

BTW, I love being a setter. You're important, you run the court, and it's kick ass.
