So these are possible common app essay topics: Tell me which you like best!

I was born in a third word country which I visited a couple of years ago. It was such a different experience- here I am considered "poor," but I live around people who make money. There, I live in a huge house, with beggers all around me. I'm also very americanized, and going back opened my eyes and helped me learn about the culuture I was once so ashamed about.

My internship with a renowned pathologist for over a year. Opened up a new world of science to me. He had a great influence on my life- they way he taught, the words of wisdom he gave.

Spending a day a week away from my crazy home and in this particular coffee shop for
4 years. i've met awesome people and had memorable encounters.

I've always had a hobby of looking at people for a few seconds- and creatinga whole story for them and writing them down. If i were to choose this i'd write about how sometimes i would end up meeting the person and they're dreams were different than the ones i had given them

My family dinners- when I'm home I'm in a completely different environment. i wear different clothes (cultural), speak a different language, eat dif food. My family dinners pretty much molded the person I am today. My parents are constantly working and those 45 min are were out greatest discussions and the bonding of my family lies.

this ones a dear one to me- my typewritter. My dad gave me his old typewriter from the 80s when he first came to this country. He passed it on to me- I learned how to write on it. When I'd have vocab tests, i'd repetitively type the words and learn it that way. As I grew older, words became stories. I began to create short stories of boys who lived in farms but dreamed of playing major league baseball (that sort of thing). This is where my love for writing stemmed. I'm also editor-in-chief of my school newspaper, plan to peruse journalism.

THANK you guys so so much

6 because it had the most impact on your major selection and high school activities.

6 you could even work into the extracurricular essay. You could say that writing is very important to you, and talk about your typewriter. You could even maybe allude to #4.

For the main common app essay, I think any of your choices could work. Watch out for the “trip that changed my life” sort of thing though. Just remember to make it personal and specific.

Good luck choosing!

6 looks the best. 3 and 4 also good.

Choose the topic that allows for the most personal, detailed, and revealing essay, the essay that is so you that only you could write it.

Imho, don’t rely on the opinions of total strangers, who know nothing about you, when deciding which topic would allow you to write that essay.

i like 6 the best as that’s the one i would be interested in reading first.

think of something more creative

4 seems to be the most but might be tough to write an essay on

I think 6 is the best choice and it would be very easy to mix in some 4.
