As Faline2 said, You have an excellent chance of being accepted into med. school from WM as long as you work hard and prepare for the MCAT's. I would suggest getting a start preparing on for the MCAT's earlier rather than later and summers would be a good time to key in on it since it gets tough with the rigor of the course load during the school year to devote full attention to it. Lastly, I am not sure if you are aware of it or not but WM has almost finished constructing a brand new bio building. I have no doubt that UVA offers a good program too and can't attest as well to what it is like there, but I will say that what you will go through at WM will give you the confidence to do anything you set your mind to. Just make sure you make time to relax and party a little bit too... that is imperative!

Wow, I haven't checked this thread for a while, but am very pleased with all the response. I also read elsewhere that WM has about an 80% acceptance rate to med school(law school is included in this percentage, which blurs the lines a bit), while UVa has around a 65% acceptance rate. I have no idea how to come to terms with these numbers (why WM's is so high).

Also, I was wondering if attending UVa would help a subsequent acceptance to their medical school, or would going to WM not change the chances?

bump this please

Going to UVA won't help your chances at their med school. Going to WM won't change the chances.
