Spain were the favorites to win.

:( bandwagoners. they probably didn’t even know what the advantage rule was

everyone kinda doubted spain after the switzerland loss, though.

^^ And you weren’t a “bandwagoner”?

I was for Argentina.
I wanted Netherlands to win against Spain.

I cried for an hour after Germany lost.
Whatever. Euro 12 already has our name all over it

Does anyone find it weird that Spain won the cup? Was there matches Fixed?

bandwagoner? of course not. I had been a fan of spain since '06, they lost to france 1-3 in the round of 16

~65% possession in every game usually gives you a decent advantage.

Muller’s yellow card in the Argentina game was bs
I mean I know it LOOKED like a hand ball, but this is the world cup, it’s not a time for wrong calls

If Muller played against Spain then Germany would have one I think. Anyone agree?

@Liverpool, If Germany didn’t score that early goal against Argentina, Germany would have lost.

^ I’m not too sure. Maradona played like 4387928789 attacking roles, it weakened Argentina’s defense completely and opened up lots of holes for Germany to find. But the early goal definitely boosted their confidence

Usually, the team that scores first is more likely to win the game. Three months before the world cup, Argentina played and beat Germany at home 1-0 (With maradona as coach). At the world cup, Germany scored the first goal and they couldn’t retreat, when the second goal came at the 70th minute, they literally gave up and conceded more goals. The problem is not maradona or there defense. They just had a bad game.

No, I don’t believe in all that “who scores first” thing
If a team is good enough, they know how to recover.

P.s I’d just like to point out the fact that Maradona is ****e and should probably go back to drugs. His glory days are over.

Well, If the team knows how to control there emotions and stay calm, then yes. But Look at Spain, when Switzerland scored they couldn’t retreat.

Yet when Brazil scored Netherlands won the game.

that’s for the “hand of god” to decide, lol

Lol, Argentina’s problem was their defense. Period.

Do you have any knowledge regarding Switzerland’s playing style/past performances? The goal might have been a shocker, but the fact that Spain couldn’t finish really wasn’t.

How could the problem be Argentina’s Defense?

In there 4 Previous games they scored 11 goals and conceded only 2.
