The student bodies are very different in terms of “personality”; have you visited or will you have the opportunity to visit? That might answer your question for you.
Will visit Grinnell this weekend. Are W&L and Grinnell equally good or one is better than the other?
They are both top-notch schools overall; I would make a point of having discussions with faculty and students in the physics and music departments and try to find out if you will be a good fit there, and if the departments offer what you might be looking for. If you can do the same for W&L, you will have the best possible means of comparing the two schools.
