Wait List

My D received an e-mail from TCNJ asking her to declare that TCNJ was her first choice and respond by apr 24.
She will decline and attend Villanova.
Good luck to all going to TCNJ , our family thought it was terrific.

Big congratulations on your d’s admission to Villanova! That’s a very sought-after school, I’m sure you’re quite proud of her.

I’m assuming, based on the thread title, that she was waitlisted at TCNJ and that’s why she was asked if it was her 1st choice. I guess I find that a bit odd. Don’t most schools just ask if you want to be placed on the waitlist?

She agreed to be on the wait list in March.

I posted so those that are on the wait list and are looking to enroll will see how this is evolving.
Again , good luck to TCNJ students. It is a wonderful school.

Here is the e-mail:

"The College of New Jersey is now in the process of determining how many seats will be offered to our wait list candidates. Because of the high number of qualified candidates–and our desire to enroll those students for whom TCNJ is their top college choice–we kindly ask that you let us know if TCNJ remains your first choice by responding “Yes” to this e-mail.

If seats become available, we will select those students who respond positively to this e-mail. Please respond no later than Friday, April 24th.

Please understand that we will do our best to notify you prior to May 1st; however, a decision may not be made until after May 1st."

Oh, I see now - very good information for those on the wait list. My son was accepted ED. It would appear to be a very competitive year for TCNJ, thanks to the economy. Several of my son’s friends were rejected - one of them just got a full ROTC scholarship to Fordham. I have to say that I was pretty shocked that he didn’t get in.

I only know of one student at Villanova, and her parents say that she loves it. I know many more who didn’t get in, but wanted to go!

Best of luck to your daughter.

Son was accepted off the waitlist today! We aren’t sure if there is any grant or merit aid at this point. We should hear by tomorrow. That being said, Ursinus gave him a great package so the cost is really about even. Two different places…he will have to decide ASAP. Good luck to all.
