I just got letters from both the schools today saying I was on their wait list. I have a feeling Oberlin may have a bit of Tufts Syndrome, because I thought I had a good shot there.

Did you get accepted/wait listed/denied?

If so, feel free to post your scores/GPA or share any tips about what these colleges like to see out of their wait listed people.

I got a 31 ACT, 3.66 unweighted and 3.94 weighted GPA, a super hard class schedule, plus tons of community service, leadership, and extracurriculars. I thought my essay to Oberlin was pretty good as well.

I wouldn't be too discouraged - Oberlin is one of the best schools in the country, and being waitlisted is not a "no." If you have your heart set on Oberlin, update them on things that you have done since your application.

The result at Oberlin isn't Tufts syndrom, IMO. Your stats did give you a pretty good shot, but you weren't highly overqualified, which is when Tufts syndrom comes into play. With your stats, it was just luck of the draw that you didn't get in--as others have said, continue to express interest/update them on any helpful new info, and maybe your luck will swing the other way!
