Just thought I would post here to give some hope to those applying next year. I was accepted into UC Berkeley with a 3.8/4.3 GPA, 1800 SAT (got the same score twice) and a 30 on the ACT. I only had one major extracurricular activity which was rocketry. Berkeley took into account the struggles within my life and looked past the low scores/GPA. I came from a single parent household, in which my mother is severely disabled. We are also extremely poor (>18,000) and by explaining my situation thoroughly they were able to believe in my future. I got into EECS and I’m pretty damn happy about it, considering I have been rejected by most of the schools I applied to. So to the applicants of next year, stay strong!

@CADREAMIN i always thought that but I got in both!

Rejected by Cal, accepted to Caltech. College admissions is messed up.
