Making this thread for mainly for two of my friends, one whom which is anxiously waiting for a call from RISD, and the other from Pratt/Parsons. Figure that we can all share our experiences/hope for the best together.

As for me, I do have a waitlisted college, but as I have made my college choice (from the other thread... I did finally decide on RISD.), it doesn't apply to me as much.

Good luck to everyone waiting this month!

My D called RISD yesterday, as instructed last week. She was told wait list calls would be going out on May 8.

Hmm, just yesterday, someone said they got admitted off of the priority wait list (not someone I know, just saw the post).

Friend got off Parsons waitlist, as well. Waiting on Pratt I suppose.

yeah, saw that on the FB RISD 2013 board. Just saying my daughter was told calls were going out on Friday. She is on the priority wait list also, but I imagine they have several “layers”, even on the priority list, so not surprised. I imagine there is some jockeying going on. However, I doubt there are any applicants at RISD who are waiting to come off some other art school wait list (although perhaps some Ivies).

Best of luck to her! =) Will she definitely be attending RISD once admitted?

Still not sure. She says RISD is her top choice, but MICA is where she is locked in now, and MICA offered her some serious scholarship cash. So it will be financially painful to go to RISD, but probably worth it.

From the RISD admissions 101 Facebook site this morning:

We made a random selection from the 30 or so Priority students we’ve been in contact with, and started calling them last week. We’re hoping to make a few more calls today, but much will depend on the response of those we started with.

One friend took himself off of Pratt’s waiting list and is going to Parsons.

Other one still hasn’t heard from RISD. I think he’s going to give up on it soon, though. =
