Waiting Game -____-

Omg. I am an international student and haven’t received anything. Feel so bad!

(Not International)

Beginning of email:

Congratulations! You have been accepted to Oberlin College of Arts and Sciences, one of America’s truly distinctive liberal arts schools. Your official letter of acceptance will be sent via U.S. mail…

I have received nothing. Does that mean I am rejected?

@ cliffordwu: Hope not! I haven’t heard anything either :'(

man wth I didn’t even know they would be sending e-mails :frowning:
I still hope there’s a tiny chance that they haven’t sent out all the acceptance e-mails

International.
Haven’t heard anything :frowning:
I don’t want to get rejected from Oberlin :frowning:
It’ll be so terrible, if I do.

I’m intl too… Can anyone actually confirm that these e-mails are indeed given out? Or were it ■■■■■■?

For those who got emails - are you questbridge?

As far as I know, and as far as the admissions office has said, they only email decisions to international applicants. Otherwise, you should be hearing next week by mail.

I’m pretty sure whoever said they got an email is either a ■■■■■, or has some kind of unique circumstance, because Mail Day at Oberlin seems to be a tradition, of sorts. They have cake and everything, haha. I doubt they’d suddenly email their decisions without warning.

Elizabeth Houston writes on oberlin blog today and says specifically that except for internationals, there will be no email notifications.

Truth, Elizabeth Houston wrote [a very detailed post this morning about letters](http://blogs.oberlin.edu/applying/selection_process/and_the_letters.shtml).

I hate ■■■■■■. Do they not realise the amount of anxiety they cause us?

I don’t think they’re ■■■■■■. In fact, they may be your classmates next fall.

One person is QuestBridge and the other may be, too.

Last year, Elizabeth Houston posted a message explaining that there are no “likely” letters from Oberlin, however a very small group of applicants did get their decisions early because they needed sufficient time to make plans for the Multicultural Visit Program. I assume that they did the same thing this year which would reconcile Elizabeth Houston’s blog entry (saying that decisions won’t be sent until Monday) with the people who posted here claiming that they received notification of their acceptance.

Last year’s message: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/9879319-post17.html

makes sense!

@d’yer maker

that’s exactly the reason why. the acceptance was via email so we could have sufficient time to register for their admitted student weekend. im not an international, or a ■■■■■…

^ I second that. I received an email about a week ago that informed me of my acceptance because they wanted us to register for the Multicultural Program.

Emails will be coming soon, then! Ack, all my decisions are coming out this week and next. :frowning: I don’t want to get pummeled by rejections in quick succession…

So…are you going to go to the weekend, ellebelle8 and curbyourfear? You’re MVPs! That sounds very exciting!

I’m confused. I thought the MVP visits were in Oct., Nov., and Dec. They also have them in April? Or are these acceptances for people who attended one of these programs last fall?

@ d’yer maker

I hope to be able to visit! But a few other schools I was admitted at also have these types of programs and they’re beginning to overlap, so I’m not too sure how I’m gonna be able to decide.

@cocoa123

I didn’t attend the MVP program in the fall. I also don’t think they would only give out these early notifications only to people who already visited…just so they could visit again.
