I visited last March on my own and thought it was weird how they extended an invitation even though I’ve already been to the campus. I unfortunately can’t go as I have another school I need to visit and can’t miss too much school (APs are right around the corner!). Best of luck to those still waiting! Oberlin is wonderful!

Oh, okay. Sorry about that guys! I read Elizabeth Houston’s post and presumed that everybody gets the letter at the same day, which according to her will be most probably after Monday. I knew that Oberlin sends early writes but I thought that they would have been received in late February/Early March.
Thanks D’yer Maker for pointing it out.

Still VERY anxious.

Monday the 28th is the day.

Got an email congratulating my acceptance to the oberlin college class of 2015. But I’m an athlete. However, my coach was still saying to call him after I get my letter and hopefully it will be a good result. I guess not haha.

Me too. I’m an athlete and I got an email from Marvin Krislov congratulating me. It was weird since I haven’t actually heard yet, but it would be really mean of them to recruit me so much then not actually accept me… It was nice to get that personal attention though!

What sport?

Did anyone receive an acceptance email from the Conservatory yet?

Isn’t today Saturday?

Yes, yes it is.

@krich - No one in the music major forum has heard from Oberlin for regular decision yet, as far as I can tell. I’m still waiting myself!

Wondering how RD chances compare with ED? My S missed the ED opportunity (he went with Wesleyan and Vassar instead) but having been denied by both would LOVE to get into Oberlin. Also how does Oberlin’s wait list go? Are a fair amount of students admitted off the list?

Last year they had 942 kids on the wait list and admitted 32. Year before 717 on the list and took 15. (From the common data set)

Wow–pretty slim chances! Thanks for the info. Guess S will be headed to Occidental–the only school he got into. (He was denied Wes, Vassar & Carleton & waitlisted at Macalester & Colorado College).

^
Nothing wrong with Occidental. I know about a guy who spent his freshman and sophomore years at Occidental. He’s now President of the United States.

Some conservatory applicants have gotten email acceptances today–shouldn’t be long now for college acceptances. Good luck all!

If the letters are sent out tomorrow, how long do you think it would take to reach the west coast?

According to the US postal service, you should have your letter in about 3-5 days no matter where in the country you are. Except for maybe Alaska or Hawaii…

I live pretty close to Oberlin, so if they are sent out today, most likely, I’ll get it tomorrow. eek!

I wonder if intl students are going to be e-mailed as well as sent physical mail :P

My daughter got an email from the President on Friday welcoming her to the class! She has not yet heard officially via a letter…she is pretty much a recruited athlete…she is happy!
