Waiting list acceptances!!

So I just found out today that I got in through the waitlist. I have already submitted my SIR to SDSU and I was excited to go there but now I'm not so sure.

Btw I got in to Roosevelt as a biochemistry major.

Did anyone else hear back from UCSD yet and have you already committed to another school?

Yeah! I heard back today–I got accepted to Marshall.
I’m so confused though…weren’t decisions supposed to come out mid-May? And do all the waitlist rules still apply. For example, do we still have only three days to accept the offer, etc, etc.
Has everyone found out if they got off the waitlist or not? Or are there people that are still waiting?

Yah I was thinking the same thing when I found out today but it says we have till may 1st to decide. I think we were very high up on the list so they accepted us now while others are still waiting.

Do you know if you’ll be attending UCSD?? I’m still unsure:/

Do you know of people who still haven’t found out about their waitlisting situations?

See that’s the thing…I was gonna go for sure, but this entire month I’ve been warming up to other schools (UCSB and UCSC) which now seem more appealing to me than UCSD. But I feel like it’d be dumb to decline UCSD for UCSB or UCSC. So idk what I’m gonna do. Are you from sd?

Just be sure to submit an SIR before May 1st. You might lose out on the deposit, but it beats having nowhere to go next year.

No I’m the only one from my school who got put on the waitlist (that I know of).

Yah I’m kind of in the same situation I really wanted to go to UCSD and wa surprised when I didn’t get in. But now I’ve warmed up to SDSU and I agree I would feel dumb to turn down UCSD.

Yup I’m from San Diego. You?

Yeah. That’s the other thing…I’ve been on UCSD campus so many times, and from what I’ve heard and what it seems like…it sounds kinda reeally boring! hahahh
And since it’s in SD…it wouldn’t be much of a change, and a change would be nice.

I got accepted into UCSD today when I woke up in the morning…after I sent in my SIR and housing and everything for UCI.

The thing is I believe UCI has a better program towards game development. It’s not actually game development, it’s more like Computer Science with game development on the side. UCSD doesn’t have that. Sure, they’re a better school academically, but I’d prefer to go to a better program that fits me.

Yah it’s a really hard decision and we only have 8 days to figure it all out. :/

I GOT OFF THE WAITING LIST!!! I was pretty sure I was going to UCSB. Now I can deposit at UCSD incase UCLA and UC Berkeley appeals don’t come out in time.

I got into UCSD too for Sixth College! Wasn’t my top choices… but I got in for biological sciences I think. I was warmed up to UCSB too and already submitted my SIR! But I’m waiting on UCI’s waitlist because I think I prefer UCI to UCSD, which is dumb, but I have my reasons… So now, it’s between UCI or UCSD if I get in…! Congrats guys!

A lot of people must have rejected UCSD already…

So I feel really dumb for doing this but I think I’m gonna reject UCSD for SDSU haha… If they had accepted me back in march I would’ve gone there for sure but I’ve already made plans for SDSU as well as received a scholarship from them as a presidential scholar as well as being accepted into their honor program.

Am I making a bad decision??..I’m confused:/

Oh yah btw congrats everyone!!! :)

i got off the waitlist and into Muir college for economics!
first of all, this must be legitimate because it allows you to SIR but they said they would let us know after may 1st…
and i did a lot of research and figured out ucsb sounds pretty cool and there is no social scene in ucsd compared to ucsb, but apparently Muir is a chill college.

I goT in to ucsd, however I am torn between ucsb and ucsd now. Can someone please help me out!?!? I seriously just visited Davis and ucsb the past few days and loved both. I want to choose ucsd for academics, but I am worried about the social scene. I don’t need to constantly be partying, but I want to really have the college experience. I am from San Diego and I love it so much, and would have trouble leaving this place behind though.

go to the tenth post by justmyview, it talks about the social scene

Wait…I got into Muir college, but my major is undeclared.
…but on my UC app, I applied for Human Bio then Physiology and Neurosience.

Is this supposed to happen?

I think that means that they accepted you, but when it comes time to declare you major, you’ll have to request Human Bio (or whatever major) and hope they accept it.

ohhh. that’s weird, didn’t seem to happen to anyone else.
thanks! :)

@animegirl909 it happened to me. I applied mechanical engineering and I got into the sixth college undeclared. If anything I will resolve it. I am in multivariable calculus and took AP physics C.
