Waiting List Letter Timing

So I sent my waiting list letter yesterday afternoon via email. Was sending it this late a really bad idea? Do you think it would hurt me?

bumpppppppppppppppppppp

Yes, it will probably hurt you. When they have people on the waitlist who submitted it on April 2 along with a strong declaration of their love for the school, they’re more likely to admit them than someone who slips it in just before the deadline.

^disagree, and so would tons of other people. quit trying to scare people. sheesh .

I’m not trying to scare people, I’m trying to be realistic. Are you one of those people who tells everyone they definitely stand a shot at Harvard because “telling people they can’t do stuff is mean”?

I agree with amarkov. OP’s chances likely were hurt by making that decision later. Though if you send along with it a letter saying how much you love the school they’ll likely not count it too bad against you.

Sending in the deposit & a well-written letter ASAP > sending in the deposit & letter May 1st > sending in just the deposit slip, anytime.
