Is anyone that was accepted at Harvard on a waitlist for another school (that you would probably go to)? I know that this is unlikely, but I'm just checking.
Also, for anyone who was accepted at Harvard and any other school (HYPS, Vanderbilt Rice, anything really, it doesn't matter) which one did you choose and why?

i am on stanford's waiting list. i don't know that i would attend if offered admission because i've never had the chance to visit stanford, but there is a very good chance i would. i really like harvard, but i'm also really into the whole change of culture/attitude thing, and it would be nice to escape the east coast for at least a little while. but when i think my true motivations, the only aspects of stanford that draw me to it are its weather and supposedly laid-back atmosphere...i really know very little about the school otherwise, and i think harvard would be better in most other regards.

I was accepted at harvard, and waitlisted at wash u. However, I'm turning both down for nyu's film school. Sorry harvard, but your film department sucks.

Good luck on the Stanford waiting list. I had to turn them down for many reasons (actually I was surprised I was accepted) and I don't know how much of a match you are to me, but that could probably give you a better chance of being taken off of the waiting list.
That aside, congrats (to all of you) on your acceptances.

why did you turn down stanford? where are you going?

I think he/she is going to Columbia SEAS.

stanford is a great place...but for some (like me) cambridge is really hard to resist.
the environment is so different and...well....palo alto isnt much...

I'm female...Anyway I applied to Columbia College, but I'm going to see if I can switch into bioengineering (SEAS) when I get there, or inquire about it over the summer.
I had to turn it [Stanford] down because of the Financial aid...or complete lack of. My parents cannot afford to pay the full tuition each year, and my admission stipulated that I would not be able to apply at all during my undergrad year as an international student. So I chose Columbia, an equally good school which leaves finaid options open; because I don't want to bankrupt my parents to get an education.

The bright side is all the waiting list spots that will open up at the schools I withdrew from...so good luck everybody!!! (who perhaps resembles me in community participation, sports, interests and academics...)
