Waitlist Acceptances

congrats nil, good luck at Columbia. I know you’ll love it, my brother actually went to Columbia over Princeton and Penn

Thanks. On CC, which is heavily skewed towards HYP that means a lot to me. :)

Anyone released (rejected) from Princeton’s waitlist yet?

Has Princeton finished accepting people off of the waitlist? And would you know if you were not accepted for sure? Is there some kind of rejection?

I’ve called Princeton a couple times over the past week or so and all I get is forwarded to a messaging machine… Has anyone else tried calling Princeton today for some more info? I feel like they should have released at least a little bit of information for us, especially since the last time I talked to them they said that the wait list would be dealt with in June. And now it’s July.

Just got a letter today stating that Princeton’s waitlist is closed. Bummer…

Don’t get mad guys, get even. :D

^ Well there goes that tiny glimmer of hope sigh. Thanks for posting this, I was starting to think they were just gonna leave us hanging lol. It’s surprising that they’re using snail mail though.

Good luck for college everybody, I’m sure you’re all headed to great places :)!

DS received the same letter today as @Shom126 mentioned. It’s off to UChicago! Your loss, P!

of possible relevance:

“As of mid-June, the University had admitted five students from the waitlist — compared to 159 a year ago — and all five had accepted.”

<a href=“Issues | Princeton Alumni Weekly”>http://paw.princeton.edu/issues/2011/07/06/pages/1782/index.xml</a></p>

hmm so nil desperandum is full of crap… shocker.

Pretty quick to cast aspersions. The operative language is “[a]s of mid-June” (as in June 15th) and the post reporting the decision to reject P was dated June 22. You probably need a bit more evidence to reach the conclusion you did.

^nope, it’s actually pretty straight forward. Nil desperandum said he was accepted off the waitlist and rejected princeton’s offer. Princeton says all 5 people they offered spots to accepted their offers. One of the two parties is not being truthful. If you read any of nil desperandum’s past posts, it’s pretty clear that he does everything he can to belittle princeton and make himself feel better about getting rejected. pretty pathetic IMO, but whatever let’s him/her sleep at night. I’m inclined to believe Princeton over some embittered CC poster.

Not sure it matters either way (no offense to anyone). (?)

^agreed.
10 char

I agree it’s inconsequential and you may be right as I am not basing anything on a history of posts since I have no knowledge of that.

But as far as being pretty straight forward, since the report talked about offers and acceptances as of mid June, basic chronology argues that a subsequent offer (June 21-22) would not be a part of the reported data.

Having said that, absent extraordinary circumstances, not many would turn down P for C.
