Waitlist Decisions (OK, Rejections)

When will they send them out? I know they have until June 30th, but I got mine from Harvard at the end of May.

I was wondering the same thing for my d who was also waitlisted. Where are you going since P'ton is unlikely to call now? My d is on her way to your hometown and UVa. Any insights you'd like to share?

Yeah, I've been wondering too. Son is headed to Southern California (USC) in six weeks. Still, it would be nice to finally get an official letter.

I got waitlisted too...but I think that their matriculation rate was a lot higher than expected, so they went a little over what they wanted. I think they were planning to keep the wait list open until the 30th. Haven't heard anything from them since April. Does Princeton every defer people for a year?

Yeah, I called the admissions office and one of the admissions officers said they doubted that they'd go to the waitlist this year, and she thought we'd get our decisions within the next few weeks, but then I said I thought the waitlist was open until June 30th, and she said, "Oh, you'll hear from us by June 30th I guess."

And to Cosmopolitan, I'm headed to Cornell; I'm happy I reached the Ivy Leagues, if just barely. Anyway, I've taken classes at UVA and studied at their libraries frequently, but I'm not sure how much insight I can offer. I liked to study in the stacks at Alderman or on the bottom floor of Clemons, if you've taken Calc AB and want to go into Calc II at UVA, go for it, because you've covered almost everything they do in Calc I, but if you've taken Calc BC and want to go into Calc III or especially Differential Equations, I'd reccomend taking Calc II first because they cover a lot of extra stuff they don't in high school. If your daughter didn't get a 4 or a 5 on the AP US exam, she'll probably take Kett's pre-1865 American History course, and if so, never, ever arrive late or you will get sniped by him. And probably my biggest piece of advice is to use this site in selecting courses and professors; it's evaluations written by Echols scholars: http://www.web.virginia.edu/epap/courses/courserec.asp?dept=GeneralAdvice

"And to Cosmopolitan, I'm headed to Cornell; I'm happy I reached the Ivy Leagues, if just barely"

I don't know what you meant by that, but I'm pretty annoyed. See you at Cornell.

I meant that Cornell is statistically the easiest to get into. For most things, I believe that for example Harvard is a better school. Anyway, I got my rejection from Princeton today. They said they didn't go to the waitlist this year.

I got mine today. It said Princeton was not taking anyone from the waitlist this year and politely rejected me.

hey, it was so polite that i didn't even associate the word rejection w/ the letter until i read your post...damn they are good
