Anyone heard anything yet?

Nope. Still waiting.

Same. No word.

I’m not happy to report this: I just read on another thread that Wait List decisions for new students have already been made. It’s my guess that accepted students got good news immediately, via email. The bad news will probably come snail mail. The other poster said Admissions told him it has moved on to determining transfer student status.

What thread was that?

It was in the transfer thread.

Thanks. I called GW. Wait-list has been compiled, but notifications have not yet been made.

Notified by email today

Hmm I wasn’t notified yet. And I just checked my status on their website and it still says “under review.”

Perhaps that means good news. Have you emailed your admissions person directly…or asked your hs advisor to do so?

Hey, I think maybe bigten has an imagination. I’m on the GW waitlist, my cousin is on the GW waitlist, I know of two other people on the waitlist and my cousin knows of one other person. None of us have heard a thing. All GW says when called is that notification for accepted students will be by telephone and email, but not email alone since they wanna know if your going to attend.

Perhaps they are working their way down the list?

Hmm interesting. We’ll see what happens.

I hope it’s a positive result for you, BFace. Unfortunately, it was not on this end (via email).

Well, finally received my notification. Georgetown here I come! The way GW treated all of us on the waitlist and the students hoping to transfer is just plain rude and shows that either they don’t have nearly the respect for students other schools do and/or the place is so disorganized the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing. Either way, Go Hoyas!

How did GW mistreat people on the waitlist?

Butterface,
Sorry you didn’t get the answer you wanted. Truth be told, my daughter would rather be going to Georgetown, she is happy with where she IS currently set to go, but she would be VERY happy to lose her deposit and go to GW.

Can i ask… how did you find out? I e-mailed them last week and they said that the notices would go out paper but the notification status online would change. As of this writing my daughter has gotten neither. Our mail is chronically slow, at least a day behind everyone else, and i don’t know if she is checking her online status.

and remember, almost everyone who is turned down by their favorite goes on to admit it was a blessing in disguise. You were obviously meant to be a Hoya!

I wouldn’t say they mistreated wait-listers and transfers, more like treated with an utter lack of respect for what we are going through. Saying one thing one day and something else the next. In fact, on one occasion in early May my cousin called the admissions office and was told decisions would be out by Friday, and that same week I called and was told they hadn’t yet started working on the wait-list. Only discovered the discrepancy when we chatting over the weekend.

We finally found out our position when I, then she, insisted on speaking with someone who knew what was going on. Look at the transfer thread, apparently being a pain in the butt is the only was to find out anything.
