Waitlist statistics

I will start by saying that I really don't think it matters what college you put down, but I can't be sure.

I definitely don't think it would hurt to put down a college at or near the same level as Duke. If anything, it would show that you aren't staying on the waiting list just to get into a "better" college, since you already got into something very good. Instead, they might think there is something specific about Duke that is interesting to you. Good luck.

If they ask what college you plan on attending for a wait list, why not just put "DUKE"! :)

Haha... Thats a good call!

Does anybody know whether you are requried to go to Duke if accepted off the waitlist? I didn't see anything about this in the letter.

Why would you put yourself on the waitlist if you weren't sure you wanted to go?

Because you may be on the waitlist of other schools too... more chances.

I do not believe it is binding, but don't take my word.

Personally, if I got off of it, I'd be there in a heartbeat, I'm going to do everything I can to go to Duke... even if it means I have to serenade the admissions officers all night or something

Me too Wolffy, me too.

You will not be required to attend here if you keep your name on the waitlist.

They will attempt to contact you by phone, and you will have a few days (10?) to make your decision.

hmm, should the EC updates be a seperate letter by itself? I already have a full page just talking about why I like Duke, etc.
