I know of some people who paid their deposits last minute though (ie. last night online at 11:00pm!) but colleges should have a general idea of how many students expect to attend and if they need to dig into the waitlists and so forth.

carnegie mellon's waitlist is also active this year if anyone is interested

Anyone know anything about Wake Forest's wait list?

And, once some kids start skipping out on their deposits to accept positions at schools where they were waitlisted, don't those slots at the schools where they initially accepted then open up?

mrchipmunk, you can have my spot at northwestern

Has anyone heard from St Lawrence, Barnard & Colgate?

A student from my school just got off the waitlist from Duke. He was going to go to Wake Forest but now he's all set for Duke.

ummm, sorry to be a bother, but what does "active wait list" mean?

alskghdaslgpomonapomonapomona

collegeappwoes, active wait list means the colleges have started admitting people of the wait list.

any word on Browns?

haha thanks coolman! if only it actually worked like that...

btw, Vanderbilt will be going to their waitlist

vandyadmissions.blogspot.com

Have Brown and Stanford stated whether or not they are using the waitlist?

i highly doubt stanford is using their waitlist. they accepted 0 students last year from it, and there were more applicants this year (i'm on it too).

Hopefully, Brown uses its waitlist.

what about WashU....

Barnard??? Ugh, the waiting is killing me.

washU will definitely use its waitlist. i'm almost 99% sure of it

Update:

Reportedly Active Waitlists:
Northwestern
Emory
Duke
