ianedwarddunne: North Fulton area. ....so I'm guessing they don't need more from my area. lol

Well, now I'm terrified. Great.

I mean, I'm not sure of this, but considering that Emory wants to round their class off... but you never know. This year changed a lot of things

I'm also hoping to hear from Emory (some of you may know me from the "How to Get Off the Waitlist" thread), and considering I know three people from my area who turned down the school, maybe they'll be looking for a journalist/actress from South Florida to round out their class...

Maybe.

South Florida? I don't think that's a hot spot for Emory.... huge difference from North Fulton in GA. :) Good luck!

anyone know if pomona's waitlist is active??

Here's a list of active waitlists so far. I think we could all copy and paste these in future posts with any available updates:

Reportedly Active Waiting Lists:
Emory
Duke
Northwestern

are these for sure active (as opposed to 1 low count CC member claiming this)?

also, do they have may 1st SIR deadlines?

Were NU and Emory intending on pulling from the waitlist? or was their yield ridiculously low?

Duke is active for sure, 2 of my friends were just accepted from them.

Any news on Boston College's waitlist?

ooh, whoops, i missed a few posts that were above mine. didn't mean to soon too incredulous or anything! :)

Yo ducked, do you know if your friends were engineering (Pratt) or not? Because it seems like everyone who has been accepted so far has been for Pratt.

Anyone yet heard from MIT's waiting list?? Please wait MIT! I haven't prepared my updates yet!

For Emory, one admissions person told me that they were planning to take 70 off the waitlist for a class of 1270. Maybe their yield was low...?

Everyone needs to remember that simply because someone declines an offer to a school it doesn't mean that there is another opening. Schools over enroll to make up for a percentage of declines. Stay hopeful, but make other plans just in case.

Do these low yields at some schools indicate an overall low yield of colleges around the country perhaps due to omething economic? I'm still hoping to get off the Brown waitlist. Has there been any indication of Brown perhaps using the waitlist this year?

I decided to bring the list over to this page, as I know this thread will be nutzo tomorrow. I'm selling my soul to the Devil tonight...anyone need me to put in any special requests?

I'll pray for you at the very least. I hope you do the same for me! Good Luck everyone! It's all gonna be OK.

You think tomorrow is it?

My son is also willing to sell his soul.

Good luck!!

Realistically, I think most colleges would have known before today if they were going to have to visit the good folks on the wait lists (I'm talkin' about us, guys) or not. If accepted students really had a particular school as their first choice, they would have put the reply in the post ASAP.

My money is on some very special phone calls to ALOT of waitlisters tomorrow. What a way to start the weekend!
