Waitlist success stories

I called Northwestern, they indicated they haven't even begun to get through their applications yet so aren't yet looking to the waitlist.

Fingers crossed for Stanford and Princeton

Case Western
College of Wooster

That's what they said when I asked them about the HPME in Feb when they had problems and couldnt send out all the invites/notifications... Northwestern's adcom is rather subpar this year with all their "problems and such"...

I called up Vandy and Vandy said they didn't start looking at their WL either...hm...

My friend just got taken of the Connecticut college waitlist

Vandy states in their blog that they will go to waitlist for sure, but who is off the waitlist is to be determined.

I just got into Emory... but I am still waiting on the monetary situation. Thankfully they said I don't need to reply until they send me the fin aid package.

haha, i just realized how ominous the first post is, considering i am also at the waitlist at stanford. oh well, regardless of whether i get in, i'll be happy at my current school.

hi guys, just wondering... how many of you admitted ppl are internationals?

Has any school announced that they will not be accepting any waitlists?

im international waiting for NYU.

Btw they said on their own forums that THEY WILL take ppl off their lists but theyll know how many by early next week (they usually notify around the 10th)

Claremont McKenna takes very few off their waitlist because they only accept about 220 students. Probably very unlikely with them.

According to the Hamilton board, someone got the phone call yesterday.

This is great guys. Congrats to everyone who got good news. Let's keep this moving and keep things positive on the board. I read somewhere that some colleges won't be phoning until late May/early June (sorry, thought I bookmarked the link...I'll try to find it again) until there class has settled down (people who accept places can get cold feet, you know).

Thanks everyone for adding to the list. I alphabetized again!

D is an international student. How will she find out if she was taken out of a WL? I figure it can't be through a phone call, on account of the time difference. Will it be merely by e-mail, or does she still get a fat envelope as she did with her other acceptances?

Well MamaBo, I am also an international student, and they called me. Granted, I am from the Americas. I would guess you'd first find out by email ?
