I’m sure they’ll let you know soon about possible openings. The Exeter revisit days were held pretty recently so I’m sure a lot of people were late deciding. I’m going to Exeter and at the revisit day plenty of people were still debating between Exeter/Andover.

I have updates from two schools about waitlists:

We will not be able to make Waitlist offers today. We are sorry as we know this means well lose great students to other schools who have a firm deadline.

As enrollment settles across all grades there may be additional opportunities to make offers of admission.

We truly appreciate your interest in XXX, we know this is a very challenging process and we thank you for your good will.

And another one:

I know that you have been eagerly awaiting some notice about your status on our waiting list. For the past week, the Admission Committee has been working through the final phase of our admission cycle. As you can imagine, it takes some time to review the enrollment figures for the upcoming year and to assess the various possibilities of changes in our enrollment picture. Based on our assessment thus far, we have not been able to move you from the waiting list. At this point if you have an offer from another school, we would encourage you to accept that place.

Traditionally, we have been able to go to the waiting list during the spring and summer months for a handful of students. However, it is always difficult to predict if we will have any further openings. We understand how difficult it is to wait and we want to assure you we are watching these numbers very carefully.

In order to keep our records updated, we ask that you respond to this email, or telephone our office if you wish to remain on the waiting list into the spring and summer. If we do not hear from you by May 3rd, we will assume that you have made other plans for next year.

Interpretations?

Not very comforting. See no reason why you can’t name the schools but that’s your prerogative. But it sounds like it could be a long summer and not necessarily a promising one.

@ops-sorry, my bad about that. The top letter is Choate and the bottom letter is Hotchkiss. I suppose it’s after April 10, so I can start naming the schools.

I think at this point, it would be wise to call the school for specifics.

i got the same email from hotchkiss. i thought it was kind of comforting, since it doesn’t let down all hope … i wonder if anyone got off their waitlist today (sounded like they took some off, imho). updates, anyone?

Deerfield are fully enrolled for all grades. They won’t be going to the waitlist unless some kids withdraw before the new school year.

Got a call from Concord Academy today - son is OFF the waitlist and so excited.
Thanks to all on CC that have been sending thoughts to the WL crowd …
and to any of you that turned down CA ;)

Swissbrit did DA send out an email? I didn’t receive it

@M-kiwi, congrats! Great news.

No, no email. I know this from emailing someone at admissions.

Mamakiwi-congratulations! I wish you and your son luck!

Remember guys, we’re all in this together!

Extra awesome mamakiwi!

Any news from exeter?

Great news, mamakiwi! So glad to hear!

On the thread “Anyone with a waitlist story with a happy ending?”, one user said that Choate is going to the waitlist and calls will come soon.

How did you know that Deerfield is fully enrolled?

Got this email this morning:

“After assessing the returns from our March 10 admission decisions, we now know that we will not be admitting any additional students from our wait list.”

Does anyone know anything about Groton?

Yep. The doors seem to be closing one by one; Middlesex, Emma, Deerfield, St. Mark’s…

I called SPS. They are not going to the waitlist at this time.
