waitlist...

I’m currently pursuing a waitlist for Barnard, but my plan B is Tufts (which I am incredibly happy with), however a lot of people/online reviews are suggesting that Tufts is better in terms of rank and selectivity. Would it be a waste to pursue Barnard? I intend to go into Anthropology and English/Creative Writing, and I want to be a publisher/editor when I grow up. I also am not sure how I feel about Tuft’s location, because I absolutely love New York and want to live there when I grow up. Moreover, I really like the fact that Barnard is all-girls, and has somewhat of a shared-campus with Columbia. What should I do? Am I going in the wrong direction?

bump lmao help me

Have you been admitted to Tufts? Or is that also a waitlist?

@calmom yep, ive been admitted to tufts

I see no problem in trying the waitlist, with the understanding that it is not very likely to get in. The CDS for the last few years show about 50 admitted off a waitlist of about 1000.

If you have been admitted to Tufts then that is the college you should assume you will be attending in the fall. Barnard currently is not an option, so nothing to stress over.

Of course you should also stay on the waitlist and if they call you, then you will have a decision to make. But for now Tufts is NOT your “Plan B” – it is your Plan A because that is the school that admitted you. So focus on the options you currently have, not on whatever you wish you had.

thank you everyone! calmom: you’re totally right, it is my Plan A, I should think about my wording (!!)
