<p>I want to take a year off before college, and I'm wondering if Williams will let me do this even if my acceptance is for the purpose of filling this years class (I was offered a spot off the wait list)</p>

<p>For some reason, I'm thinking that in years past Williams has formally closed the wait list at some point and that those waiting have been notified. Does anyone now? If I'm right, when and how (individual letters? a posting on the Admission website?) is the notification likely to come?</p>

<p>i emailed an admissions officer today, and her reply is "we will notify everyone the status of our class by July 1, but it is not very likely that we will admit more students, however."
Let's just pray that we still have chance.</p>

<p>Gahh this is so tough! Williams has been my first choice for over a year. But thinking about it now, Pomona seems to have everything Williams has but better weather, the 5 college consortium, and its in a bigger town.</p>
<p>How bad would it be to turn down the offer from Williams, after I said I was still interested to the admissions office? At the time I was positive I would go, but am a little less sure now.</p>
