Waitlisted at Stanford???

"You will have the opportunity on the Waitlist Response to provide brief updates to your application. Beyond that, there is nothing you can do to improve your chances of being admitted from the waitlist. We respectfully ask that you not submit any additional letters of recommendation from your counselor, teachers, alumni, friends, etc. We also respectfully ask that you not submit any additional materials such as writing samples, creative/performing arts credentials, photos, research papers, certificates, etc."

I've read some of the how-to get of a waitlist threads, many of which recommend sending in additional information such as letters explaining why a school is your top choice. However, it seems that Stanford does not want us to send in anything...

They give you exactly 600 characters for "additional awards, accomplishments, grades or scores" and that's it. Does this mean the school does not want to be bothered by additional calls, letters, and supplementary material?

Yes, that is clearly what the above paragraph means. It means, if you have something really important to tell us, let us know in 600 characters or less, otherwise don't call us we'll call you.

thanks bummmmp
