Waitlisted at Univ of Rhode Island

Hello everyone!! So I was waitlisted at my top choice, URI :( As soon as I found out, I sent the Dean a nice, positive, email on how excited I was to be waitlisted and we kept in touch for about 4 emails.

My GPA is a 2.7 and I had over 300 hours of community service, 4 physical therapy internships (my major), captain of the cheer team, ballerina, and work 2 jobs.

I understand my GPA is low, so I called Admissions and asked where my placement was on the waitlist and they said I am at the highest prioroity spots which means I am up top!
They also said they didn't use the list last year, but did in 2010.

So my question is, what do you think my chances are of getting off the list and into URI? And also, some waitlist success stories are always wonderful to hear!!

Thank you so much for your time! :)

hello???

Well with today being the deadline for telling schools where you’re going, I’d say you’d find out soon. The bad news is that according to College Board, URI’s last reporting year to them they offered 1,385 spots to the waitlist, 526 accepted a place, and only 28 were accepted off of the list. So its not a whole lot that comes off the list, but its possible if you truly are at the top
