I didn’t even accept the waitlist offer

anyone else get this?

I got this too. I was waitlisted.

Me too and I was weight listed. It’s Confusing me.

Me too and I accepted my waitlist offer.

This basically means your financial aid info has come out. Well it came out a few days ago for me.

My daughter also received this email. I believe the Financial Aid Office made a mistake. I am sure you will receive a corrected email apologizing for the confusion tomorrow when they realize the mistake. They will not be making offers of admission from the waitlist before they know how many regular admitted students are going to accept after May 1st.

I got this exact message and I was waitlisted too. It’s probably a mistake, and it got my hopes up because UC Davis is my top choice :(

D got the same email. She hasn’t accepted the wait list offer yet either. Sounds like the Financial Aid Office got a little ahead of itself. I feel bad for the kids who really want to go there are got this message thinking they had been accepted.

On my uc davis account:

Thank you for considering the Admissions Waitlist Offer from UC Davis. The Financial Aid Office is pleased to present you with the following preliminary financial aid estimates based on the information we received from your 2012-2013 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). If you have not filed the FAFSA, this estimate may only include an offer of any UC Davis scholarships for which you may be eligible.

Please note this preliminary financial aid estimate is not a guarantee of admission to UC Davis. Any financial aid offered is contingent upon your admission to UC Davis.

Baahh got the same email, it got my hopes up for a few minutes before I realized it was a mistake. :(

UPDATE: Two of my friends who also got waitlisted to UC Davis DID NOT receive the Financial Aid email. Does this mean anything?

same here…i think it might be a mistake…what a shame :(

@Techhexium: did you get this email a few days ago or did you just get it today?

I got this email too! Ugh, I totally was euphoric for a second there :0

Pretty unprofessional mistake to make, sending that to all of the waitlisters. I hope they send an appropriate apology email, this is actually pretty annoying/frustrating. >:(

Okay rants over! Truth is I love Davis, it’s my top choice, I would choose it over Berkeley and so I was sooooo bummed to find out I was waitlisted :frowning: and this episode kinda rubbed salt on the wound, ya know?

I hope they apologize like this:

We are very sorry for the inconvenience that we may have caused you. Therefore, we will be admitting you to UC Davis for the 2012-2013 year. :)

I meant I got the email several hours ago. My preliminary financial aid info was released when I found about my waitlist offer

(From UC Davis’ website while following the link in the email):

Here is the email we just received…

Yesterday the Financial Aid Office sent you an email inviting you to view your preliminary financial aid estimate for 2012-2013.* In that email, we mistakenly referenced admission to UC Davis when you have been offered a Waitlist opportunity to our campus; I apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused.

I hope the preliminary financial aid estimate will help you with your decision to accept the Waitlist offer.* For information about the Waitlist process and the April 15 deadline, visit myadmissions.ucdavis.edu http://myadmissions.ucdavis.edu .*

Apparently UCLA did this too.
