Waitlisted-Deerfield

How does the waitlist system work? My application was screwed up due to the new online system they used this year and was never officially sent in until I called after not receiving any response from them, acceptance, waitlist, rejection. When I called they said I was ot the only one and that because of this they would be allowing late applicants, and I was one of them. Soon after I received that I was waitlisted. I'm curious if I have any chance of being accepted, and if so when? How many people do they usually/sometimes pull off the list? Is it common or extremely rare?

Thanks in advance

I am a freshman applying to be a sophomore.

@klm2014,

Schools put a list of qualified applicants they didn’t have room for on a thing called a waitlist. Schools can access this waitlist when they have extra room, though many top schools haven’t used their waitlists that much in recent years. I heard from Deerfield that they don’t plan on using their waitlist that much this year. If I were you, I’d prepare to apply again next year instead of focusing on getting off the waitlist. Good luck, and I’m in the same boat as you.
