Waitlisted gloom

<p>its tough to get off the waitlist. no one got off the waitlist last year.</p>

<p>If you are on the priority waiting list, the email that Rice sent you about your admission decision would state that you are on the priority waiting list. This is also on your application status as well.</p>

<p>6 people got off the waitlist last year, 110 the year before. (It says it in their waitlist FAQ)</p>

<p>My son was accepted off the waitlist. He wrote a letter explaining why he wanted to go to Rice and described the changes that made him a better candidate. At his graduation last spring, his College Masters made a point of telling me that they were glad the he went to Rice -- they felt he was a perfect fit.</p>

<p>What does "alternate" on waitlist mean?</p>

<p>Wait wait wait someone said you only have 24 hours to respond if you're on the priority waitlist. Is that true???? That makes no sense!!!!</p>

<p>does anyone have any insight on to what things we can do to increase our chances of being on selected from the waitlist?</p>
