Waitlisted in University of Rochester class of 2022

Hey. I didn’t see a waitlist thread for UoR class of 2022. So, I decided to make a new one. Please drop any suggestions, updates, and activities here. :slight_smile: Good luck!

Also got waitlisted and waiting for their response

I was waitlisted too, no decision yet!

I was waitlisted too , but got accepted today.

My daughter got an email yesterday evening that she was accepted. She is thrilled but also confused. She visited RPI last weekend and really liked it. Now she is unsure what to do. Any advice?

@JJLL123 Are you an international or a domestic applicant?
Damn! they have started pulling off applicants from the waitlist.

@victoriaaaaaa I think UoR is better. Just my preference. UoR maybe expensive, but it really is worth the money. :wink:
But think about it. UoR is just my preference.

I do think she should go to the place she feels would be her se ond home. Don’t only think about ranking.

Anyone else did not get a decision yet?

@spookyloon88 I am a domestic student.

@JJLL123 Okay. Thanks. And, Congratulations!

This wait list is killing me. Like accept me, I am way over qualified compared to your average student. Also does anyone know official deadline for releases?.

international student, got accepted off the waitlist a few days ago. Anyone got financial aid information yet after being accepted off the waitlist?

You do know that someone’s stats is not all that qualifies them for an admission right? Everyone applying to the university has great stats, that doesn’t make you more special than anyone else if you don’t have something more to offer.

did you guys send anything extra to them? Im just waiting for a decision. Do they tell yoy youre not off the waitlist after a certain date?

They told my friend the decisiin can be as late as August

I was surprised they sent any notifications prior to May 1st, so that might be a good sign for anyone on the wait list hoping to get in. Until the deadline to accept the offer passes they don’t know for sure what the class size is. I would expect the most movement soon after that but as some people decline from the wait list or ones committed get in another colleges wait list new spots will open up as well. Good luck!

@UziGun I sent them a letter describing how I can take leverage from a Rochester education. I did not make that point in my Rochester supplement. So, I thought it would be a good idea.

Could the waitlisted ones do anything more? Or, a short letter will do?

I got accepted for january 2019. But I still didnt get any information on fin aid.

@spookyloon88 @UziGun I sent a email of continued interest to show that I was still interested in the school. The admission office email me back saying that they DO factor in continued sign of interest in the college when pulling off the waitlist. I would maybe email them another short letter giving maybe updated grade or new award you received.
