So I have been put on the waitlist for Loomis Chaffee. They say they onoly have 5-7 9th grade boys and 5-7 9th grade grls on the list...... Loomis is one of my first choices so I need ideas on how to get of the list......do you know anyone who got of the list????

Bump!! Help!

My son will decline admissions to Loomis.

I wonder if that’s true (about the number on the waitlist). I have no reason to believe it’s not. My daughter got the same letter. It does give a good idea of how few really do move off the WL (at any school) if that’s all that they need to cover gaps in yield.

Edit: @yankeefan - if you have an acceptance, I’d recommend taking it. But if you would take Loomis over a school where you have an offer, let them know immediately.

Thank you!!!

It said about 7 per gender per grade were waitlisted…this makes me feel more confident I may get in

I live in the Western side of the US-haven’t recieved letter from Loomis at this point. How long did it take for you to get your letter? I’m also WLed at schools-maybe letting them know that you’re still interested would be a start.

Yeah I told them that and I just got the letter today… And I live on the east coast

i will most likely have to decline my admissions unfortunately, because the logistics are not favorable right now

yo bro you want to here something that is very “real”, i havnt even heard from loomis yet and thats my last chance at getting at a bs cuz i didnt get into any of the other schools that i applied to.

My daughter was admitted but they say she is on the financial aid waiting list, and that they only have a few people on that list. We received our letter Saturday- east coast.
Remaining hopeful!
Does anyone know …Is there another wait list that is not based on financial aid?
Did the financial aid awards closely match what your PFS said you could afford, or are some awards much smaller and therefore not adequate?

yeah, I need no FA and there is a waitlst of 5 girls and 5 boys in 9th grade…

I got into LC applying for 2011/12 skl yr. 4 9th grade. I know a few people weightlisted last year and none of them got in. Almost everyone accepts admission to LC so there’s really no room for ppl like you who were weightlisted.

also…i know alot of ppl @ LC and the waitlist is muuuuch longer that 5 10 ppl! u rlly have no idea wut ur tlking about yankeefan wutever…im sorry but you don’t.

bangs head against desk

there are alot of other wait lists with alooooot of ppl on them. and no one rlly turns down acception to LC so there’s not much hope.

Must have been fit…

Wow, I’m appalled that Loomis accepted someone who butchers the English language everytime they write. Also, I’d like to point out that Loomis, although a great school, doesn’t have that high of a yield. If I remember correctly it has a 30-40% yield, so no, not everyone who gets into Loomis decides to go. Good Luck to everyone on the waitlist !

haha neato #15… i agree completely

last year loomis had a 33% yield, so the idea that “no one rlly turns down acception to LC” is false. then again, if loomis overadmits (accounting for yield) well, people might not get off the waitlist. idk.

best of luck to those on LC waitlist !

They sent a letter saying there is only 5 per gender on the waitlist for 9th grade @xoxo9400…
