I got waitlisted at a college that would be my first choice, but the enrollment deadline is May 1st for the other schools I got accepted into. If I enroll into one of the colleges I was accepted to before May 1st, would it still somehow be possible for me to decommit if I get accepted off the waitlist from my first choice?

Please be sure to submit your deposit to a school that made you an offer before May 1, even if it’s your second choice. Since you applied there, one would hope that you saw something great in them. They obviously saw something great in you.

It’s unlikely that you would hear back from a wait list school prior to May 1. If you do successfully clear the wait list, you would send a letter to to the school you’ve deposited at ASAP, letting them know that you’ve cleared the wait list at another school and will be withdrawing your intent to register.
You will lose your tuition deposit. Depending on when you might hear back from your first choice school and the Housing terms at your second choice school, you may also lose any housing deposits you may have made.

It is allow to withdraw from the committed school if you got accepted from a school put you on wait list. Of course, the deposit will not be refunded.
