waitlisted over and over and over

3 accepts (not counting 2 safeties)
3 waitlists
1 rejection
2 ivies in waiting

Wow… I feel like I stole your place for jhu…;;
Im sure you’ll get into one of the ivys tho.

You may be interested in today’s article in The Daily Beast about how to get selected off of waitlists. See: [Dirty Secrets of College Waitlists - The Daily Beast](http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2009-03-30/dirty-secrets-of-college-waitlists/) Good luck to all of you.

everyone sounds to be in the same boat. i was waitlisted at 3 schools–all out east. Lehigh, Villanova, and Holy Cross. I’m going to put my stuff down for another school , but if i somehow get in off the waiting list at one of those schools i’ll probally end up going.

wow this seems to be happening to everyone…i browsed through some of last year’s stuff, and i don’t think this many people were waitlisted…

i got waitlisted at harvard, cornell, columbia, anddd dartmouth. so that brings my total to seven. weirdddd.

^DAMN all of them?!

I’ve got 4 waitlists, and I thought four was a lot…

Where can we get info on waitlists and stuff?

yeah all of em :frowning: it was really weird, because i would think that a waitlist at a school like harvard of darmouth would mean an acceptance at jhu or rice, but i guess not…

the link that inquisitivemom posted is pretty helpful…here are a few others that i found

but i’m wondering if we can get stats on how many people are placed on the waitlist? i have a suspicion that there are a TON more this year because of all the uncertainty…

If you go the common data set of each school you can see what each has historically picked up from the Waitlist. It may or may not apply to this year.

Waitlisted: Duke (NC), Colgate (NY), Washington U (MO), Georgetown (DC)

URGHH

FOUR waitlists == Not Cool

waitlisted to duke, rice, and princeton, but accepted to JHU

I thought rice and duke would be easier then JHU and I spent A LOT more time and effort on those apps…but who knows…I got duke and rice first and that was heartbreaking thinking i would be rejected everywhere else…but I guess you never know

and ya i heard that their expecting to accept more people off the waitlist this year, but beware thats still a low percentage of students

I think I win…Nine waitlists.

it was pretty painful.

That’s tough. But, consider that some of that pain was self-inflicted.

So any progress in getting off the waitlists?
