Waitlisted Students 2011

I’m also waitlisted but I’m trying to stay positive. I fell in love with Bryn Mawr when I visited and would love to attend. Does anyone know around when will they notify those who came off the waitlist? Will it be around mid-May to June?

Normally you get in late April early May message if you will, but sometimes taken which are on the waiting list have been included in other colleges. This can of course not as the process of moving up to fill all the seats sometimes lasts until June. But if you have not heard until May you can ever enrolled pay fees.

Aww, good luck to all who were waitlisted.=D What do you love about Bm?

I love the Tri-Co! I think it presents limitless opportunities to students. Not to mention, the campus is incredibly beautiful. Haha, there’s too much to say!

I can’t wait until late April/early May; hopefully it will be good news for all of us!

@PhuongABong: I really love everything about it; the campus, the dorms, the community, the honor code etc. The only thing I don’t like about it is that I’ll have to pursue an Independent Major since they don’t offer my intended major as a major (it’s a minor instead).

Waitlisted too.I was rather disappointed, but I still remain
Positive. My second choice is one of my safties.didn’ have
Great luck this year. But I feel so sure that Bryn Mawr will
Squeeze a place for me.Good luck to all of you!!

Since it is May 2 now, any ideas on how many students enrolled for Class of 2015? And is BMC going to admit students from the waitlist?

We should know in these next couple of weeks. I don’t know whether or not I’ll get in. I feel like my grades should have qualified me for regular admission, but I just don’t have anything special that would fill a niche from the waitlist. I’m the most average above-average person I know…

Please note that we will not be able to make any decisions about our use of the wait list until after May 15.

Does this mean the earlies notification date possible for some wait list applicant will be May 15 or they will only start reviewing the wait list applicants after May 15?

Just that I’m taking the SAT 2 this Saturday (I never took it before and am only taking it with the hope of getting in BMC in mind). The scores will not be available until late May and it will take ~ another 2 weeks for the sent score reports to get to BMC. Should I write them an email about this to let them know that I’m intending to send SAT scores to them before they make any decision on my application?

@leaf281 Tell them. Rush the report. Do whatever you can.

Thank you. I emailed the admission officer of my territory and she replied REAL promptly, in 2 minutes, to be precise, that the scores would be in time for the review in the wait list round :D.

Just checking - no one has heard anything yet, have they? Either about getting accepted off of the waitlist or whether BMC is going to it at all this year? I know the letter said they couldn’t make decisions until after May 15th, but checking last year’s waitlist thread reveals that people started hearing decisions as early as May 9th.

I sent my waitlist package last month, and I bet some of you have too, so let’s keep those fingers crossed! :)

Tenpakun:I haven’t heard anything either.I also checked the thread
of last year and found out that some people were accepted off the Wl on May 7th.
I believe, no matter how, BMC is still going to accept some students from the
Waitinglist.Since the AdCom views our applications Holistically, its going to take
some time.Don’t worry(^ ^)

Two schools that my friends were wait listed at informed them that the schools are not taking any students from the wait list already. I guess if BMC haven’t told us anything by now, it means they are taking students off wait list. I don’t think it takes that long to count the number of students depositing to Bryn Mawr on May 1st and see if the class is filled.

I agree leaf281; I was also waitlisted at Mt. Holyoke and my guidance counselor notified me that it was not looking too good for the waitlist given the unforeseen amount of acceptances so far and yesterday I received an email that it was highly unlikely that Mt. Holyoke would go to the waitlist. The fact that Bryn Mawr has not said anything after this amount of time is a good sign that their yield has not been met and that they’ll be looking at the waitlist.

…At least, I hope this is the case.

I agree.(^ ^)let’s wait and see!

Ahhh, that sounds good then!

On another note, is anyone else having problems logging on to their Virtual Bryn Mawr accounts? Every time I try it says my username or password is invalid, which I hope isn’t a bad sign!

Tenpakun: I think your VBM failed login is probably a fluke. Call the admissions office and ask for a new password or for them to check on your status. I know other applicants have mentioned their VBM not working (and some of them ended up being accepted), so no worries.

My VBM still works! Please be aware that your user ID is the abbreviation
Of your name! For example,my name is Chendan Yan,so my user ID is cyan.

When will we be able to receive a final decision? I am so anxious right now~
