Waitlisted Students 2011

Where are my waitlisted ladies? There seem to be a lot of us this year.

I voted to remain on the waitlist, so now starts the battle of showing them my continued strong interest in Bryn Mawr! Can’t wait for June, I guess! :D

Same here! Bryn Mawr is still up there on my list so I’m definitely going to keep trying. Good luck @tenpakun!

Thanks! You too! Hopefully we’ll both get a letter come mid-May, eh?

Mid-may? June?
When are we set to receive word about the waiting list?
Most other colleges require a deposit to be put down by the first of May to solidify acceptance… Are we just supposed to wait that long?

First rule of the waitlist: Always put down a deposit at another school that you have been accepted to before May 1st! That way, if you (more than likely) don’t get off the waitlist at School A, you’ve at least got School B to attend in the fall. If you do get off the list and decide to go, you just withdraw your deposit at B and enroll at A.

And yeah, generally if a school goes to its waitlist to enroll more students, they don’t do it until after May 1st, and notification begins mid-May and throughout the summer if necessary until the school has filled its spots and closes the waitlist.

I was also placed on their waiting list. I am very disappointed considering this is my favorite school. Let’s put it this way, I have to go here! I will be going insane until may/june. My question is: What are your stats? I am concerned that everyone on the waitlist is more qualified than myself.

any ideas on how many students did they accept for the past years?

I was waitlisted but am not going to stay on the waitlist. This past week I’ve been waitlisted at a ton of schools (it seems) and need decisive finaid so I’m going to go with the best school that has accepted me so far.

@amber1
If you search online you can find some past stats, I’ve seen it range anywhere from 0-49 students.
I’m sending them a letter tomorrow with additional information for them to review my application.
And trust me! I need to go here too!

Waitlisted at Bryn Mawr! Accepted at NYU and RISD. Which schools have other waitlisters been accepted to?
I think I misled myself into thinking I’d be accepted due to the fact Bryn Mawr paid for me to fly in for an overnight visit. At the time, I thought Bryn Mawr was really interested in me as a potential student. Now, I’m thinking visits were their way of spreading awareness and getting more people to apply.
I like BM a lot, but I’m not sure I can picture myself at a single-sex school (despite the tri-college consortium). Other than that, I loved it!
I think I’ll vote to remain on the waiting list and send in my portfolio since I’m more qualified in art than I am in academics.
I have faith that those of you determined to get into BM will eventually be accepted! Good luck to all!

Good Luck to All! I wouldn’t take a place on a waitlist for a school I’m not going to. I’ve been accepted to Penn State, Fordham, BU, Mount Holyoke and waitlisted at a bunch of others. Good luck to everyone waiting!

Yeah, I was surprised as well, my test scores were pretty high by Bryn Mawr’s standards. I’ve been waitlisted at Bryn Mawr, and accepted at St. Mary’s College, University of Notre Dame, Bennington College, Clark University, and DePaul. I’m waiting to hear from Harvard, Yale, Penn, and Emory. I don’t know if I’ll get in to any of the ivy leagues, and I really have my heart set on Bryn Mawr, especially since I’d be able to take classes at Penn, which is good if I get rejected. I figure we all still have about a 50% chance of getting in, it just depends on how long we can stick it out.

Hi guys, I’ve been accepted but will decline my offer in a few days because I’m set on a different school. Good luck to all those on the wait list!

Waitlisted. Accepted to Mills, but Bryn Mawr is my dream. I’m just worried about being rejected twice if I accept the position on the waitlist.

Yeah, I just don’t want to set my sights on it and keep assuring myself that everything will be fine and still end up being rejected again, you know?

Tomorrow are the ivy decisions. Accepted at University of Michigan, Rejected at Stanford, Waitlisted at Bryn Mawr, rejected at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Waiting for Harvard and Yale tomorrow.
Bryn Mawr is my dream, though. I can hope!

I have been waitlisted as well. And from the looks of it, all you ladies are extremely intelligent compared to me. I was actually surprised I got wait-listed, right now I got into all the UC’s except LA and Berkeley. Hopefully Bryn Mawr will admit me! My second choice is UC Davis, so we’ll see! Good luck to you all!

I got waitlisted too. =/ As of now, BMC is my absolute first choice. I guess I just have to wait until mid-May. I get the nagging feeling that I’ll be rejected though.

Have any of gotten an e-mail regarding information about the wait list? I don’t know if it was mass e-mailed or not because I did send in an inquiry e-mail about my wait list status. But anyway, it said that the wait list is not ranked and should spots open up, the AdCom will holistically review all the waitlisted ladies once again.

Yep, I did last night. It’s gonna be a long wait til’ mid-May…

I completely agree… =/
