waitlisted, would withdrawing FA request increase chances?

I was just waitlisted at Cornell (and dartmouth and columbia), and was wondering whether submitting a statement that I will take back my application for Fin Aid would help my chances in getting off the waitlist?

I am a Canadian citizen, and they say they do not have much Financial aid for international students anyways (I've heard of a Canadian student whose parents earn less than mine get 0$ fin aid), would it benefit me?
Thanks all

I don’t think it will help you as admissions and financial aid are two separate departments, and it’s also need-blind.

Yeah. Need-blind.

They have limited finaid for us ints. So some will not get, like your friend and me. But agreed with above; need blind. Good luck with waitlists. I am on them. I hate and love them at the same time :)
