Okay...so I got waitlisted today. I am a first generation student. I do not know what to do. WashU is my first choice. Is there something that I can do to raise my chances? Please someone help me. I am in LOVE with in.

Also, if anyone know, what are the chances for waitlisted. How are they in the past. Is there a high chance or low chance?

One more thing, I just fill out the acceptance to waitlist, is that all I need to do to confirmed that I want be waitlisted?

I would recommend contacting the admissions person for your state and asking him/her if there's anything you can do. Write an additional essay? Another letter of recommendation? Let them know that it is absolutely your first choice school and that you want to do anything you can to get off the list and get admitted. Good luck!

should I call my admission person....i dink she is the dean of admission... at wustl...
@sheed..are you waitlisted also.....at another thread they said 15,000 applicants are waitlisted...though I don't know how true it is...

waitlisted too. sheed is right - in some ways, being waitlisted is harder than getting rejected. when you are rejected you can move on a lot quicker.

aaaaaah -- I don't know about taking SATIIs, but I still think the best thing would be contacting your admission person. I'd email him/her and say you would like to talk to them (on the phone) about how you can better improve your chances. I think making contact and letting them know how serious you are can only improve your chances. And they might have some very concrete suggestions about things you can do.
