Waitlists how does it work?

I have been waitlisted at 4 Ivies and accepted into one.

My first and second choice is within the waitlisted ones. Now I am wondering what can I do right now?

Am I allowed to accept to the Ivy I got in and later if it turns out that I got moved from the waitlist can I accept that offer, after accepting the first one?

How does this work?

Yes. that is NOT considered "double depositing". When you clear waitlist off a higher choice school, you can send the new school a deposit to enroll, and withdraw from the first. You can repeat that as you hear from other schools (hopefully).

Thousands thanks to you, OperaDad.

Just out of curiousity, when withdrawing the first deposit, will I get the money back or not?

I would definately be willing to pay a deposit if I were to be admitted to a higher choice school.

Reptil .......

If you're accepted by a WL school and decide to attend, you will lose the deposit at the school that accepted you earlier.

Good luck ........

Thanks for all your answers guys!

And I do believe it is worth investing a deposit for a Harvard education :D
