Searching around Wake's site I could not find the standardized testing requirements. Am I required to take SAT IIs? Can I just submit the ACT?

From what I understand, WF does not accept the ACT. They also do not require SAT IIs. SAT I only.

NOPE! No ACT.

Doesn't wake now accept the ACT beginning this year?

Hmm, I'm shocked. Apparently Wake's starting to accept the ACT, according to the 2006/2007 application. Interestingly there aren't any spaces for SAT II scores.

That's so annoying if they start to accept the ACT now, I really wanted to send mine this year.

I think I read somewhere, Wake doesn't REQUIRE SAT IIs. But I gave my SAT IIs. Lots of kids give their SAT IIs as their other colleges might require it.

Also, SAT IIs, though not required, are always helpful.

I think that these colleges need to get a uniform system together. By not accepting the ACT last year I couldn't even apply. It was the fall of my senior year, and there was no possible way I could prepare for a different style standardized test on top of finding a college and running every club under the sun at my high school. I'm glad that Wake finally got it together, but in the end I probably would have picked Miami University anyway. Best of luck to you '07 seniors.

In case anyone is wondering, I emailed the WFU admissions office asking about the ACT, and here was the reply:

Hi Allison,
Greetings from Wake Forest! You are correct in that this year is the first year we will be accepting the ACT with writing. We will not weight this test any differently than the SAT, so you may submit either or both. We will also only be looking at your composite ACT score, so not the specific areas. If you have further questions, please let me know.

I also asked if they would convert the ACT scores to SAT scores to compare, but she didn't seem to answer that directly. Hope this helps.

yeap its true...the new batch of post cards that wake is sending out have "accepts Sat I or II and/or ACT with writing" on them... which is good becuase next year i wasnt gonna apply unless they did becuase my ACT is much higher
