i haven’t heard of any. worried
I know seems like high stats didn’t get in:((
Mine were same as others …4.3 weighted gpa
9 AP/IB classes full honors, NCL, NHS, CSF, leadership roles at school, varsity sports, etc
Seeing in twitter that some people got their acceptance letters today
@gjmfm42 do you know what states?
Looks like Florida and not sure about how the other one
actually now seeing some New Jersey, New York Massachusetts all saying they were accepted today.
Oh wow. That’s a lot
This is their first time doing ED2. Not a good sign that a few with real high stats got rejected. There is a learning curve for the Admission Dept as well. My guess is that they decided to admit only certain number of people through ED2 and there might have been a stiff competition in the ED2. Remember there is no “Defer” from ED2.Probably much much better chance with ED1.(only guess)
@divdad123 i didnt know about the no defer. So nervous about daughters letter today!!!
does anyone think that it’s odd that some people have received either their acceptance, wait list or denial letters in the last 2 days but many have not received anything. Also those who did receive their decision are from all areas of the country so cant be a mail issue.
I remember when our daughter applied people received their letters even in our town on different days. The acceptance envelopes are large and they are not all processed at the same rate. At some point we did call admissions and they knew when the notification had been released. I don’t remember the amount of days but they did say that after x amount of days if we had not received the mail they would resend and give us a verbal. The amount of time the notification takes does not seem to correlate to whether or not you have been accepted or rejected.
@Barbie4 so are you implying that the large acceptance letter takes longer to be received??I’m only asking because I just checked the mail for today and still nothing at all from WFU.
@gimfm42 I am not saying the timing has any baring on receipt. Winston salem is a small town and its a massive amount of mail to process I don’t think everything goes out at exactly the same time and in our experience mail was not received at the same time. It took a very long time from when our envelope was mailed to when we received it. Was it the size? I don’t know but it was close to 10 very painful days. I hope when your mail arrives it brings good news
DD got accepted!!!
@Alexandrasmom, congratulations to her!
@Alexandrasmom Congrats to your daughter!!! Can you tell us what state you live in??? We are so disappointed no news came in the mail today.
@gjmfm42 we live in Maryland!! Im so sorry you didnt hear the waiting is excruciating !!!
Thanks @TTG !!! We are supwr excited now I can stop stalking college confidential!!!
Got my acceptance letter on Monday; it was addressed February 10th. I live in Massachusetts. 33 ACT, 1490 SAT
My child’s EDI acceptance arrived 9-10 days after it was mailed, so patience for a few more days may be necessary. BTW 1540 SAT and one outstanding EC, but only a 3.65 UW GPA (albeit from a competitive school notorious for grade deflation), no AP test results yet, nor any team sport recruitment. So don’t give up hope while you wait, despite the quite frankly surprising level of achievement of some of the people who are reporting waitlist status.
I think the supplemental essays and interview play a bigger role than at other schools. We were about the last to get an interview spot, and it could have been made more clear that they prioritize evaluative interviews but that spots fill up early. Good luck!
