If I was to get into both (fingers crossed), and I would end up paying the same at either school...where should I go for business?

UNC IMO 10char

Which ever is a better fit...

Depends on what you want out of your college experience. Both are fine schools.

Ranking wise UNC is better, but it isn't some "significant" difference... so yeah

I'd personally pick UNC by far.

would you please elaborate? I like both (haven't been to UNC campus yet, but my friends that go there told me its great), but I visited Wake and it was great.

Let's just say I would kill a kitten to go to UNC. You should consider yourself very lucky. Great academics+great sports+great social scence+warm+great job placement=Win

They are very different. There is no way you can like both equally. UNC is large, public, Basketball CRAZY and liberal. Wake Forest is significantly smaller, private and quite conservative. I personally much prefer UNC to Wake Forest, even if UNC was the only US university to have rejected me! Hehe!!! Seriously though, on a final note, both a good universities, but I would give the edge to UNC in terms of academic strength and reputation. In terms of Business Schools, UNC (Kenan Flagler) is also better than Wake Forest.

Wake is a great college; I enrolled there before Duke upped my $ package. The campus and dorms are nice, the students are the friendliest I've met, and the professors are very focused on undergrads. I visited several times, and the thing that always struck me the most was the amazing friendliness of the student body. Almost everyone said "hi," and a few people asked me if I was lost. One student even went out her way to volunteer to show me the chemistry department. If I recall correctly, Wake Forest has study abroad centers in London, Vienna, and Venice, and study abroad is fairly popular. Wake is pretty basketball crazy, and their football team won the ACC championship this year. Wake Forest is known as "Work Forest," and students have to work harder to get good grades than at some comparable colleges.

I've spent a lot of time at Chapel Hill and have taken a couple classes over there. I like it a lot, even though it is a lot larger. Even visiting for an hour or so I've run into people I know, so it's not too large. Classes are actually relatively small- most are under 50, and many are capped at 30 or fewer. UNC has a lot of resources (including very extensive libraries), and there's a lot of opportunities for a go-getter. A nice thing about UNC is that it has a consortium in which students can take classes at Duke (or vice versa), and the Robertson bus makes it easy.

I agree with IsleBoy and HeavenWood. Both are great, and you really can't go wrong with either. I definitely wouldn't let prestige play much of a role in your decision.

My brother goes to UNC and his best friend goes to Wake. My brother's friend actually stated that he wish he had gone to UNC, while my brother also thinks UNC was a better experience. Wake's social scene is much smaller and less diverse, whereas UNC seems to have alot of the benefits of Wake but appears to also be a much more fun college experience. Just what I have heard, I've never actually visited Wake but I've been to UNC a few times and its great.

The Val of S's class went to Wake for one semester, didn't like it (can't say why) and transferred to UNC. She loves it there.

If we're bringing in anecdotes, the valedictorian from the class before me (freakishly smart) went to Wake on the full-ride Reynolds scholarship (turned down Duke and Harvard). Hasn't regretted it at all.

Honestly, you have to look at both and make your own decision! Wake and UNC are both different and similar...
A couple of differences-
Size- Wake is much smaller than UNC. That means smaller class sizes and more one-on-one time with professors. However, that also means that it's not going Location- UNC is in a great college town- Chapel Hill is awesome. On the other hand, Wake is in Winston-Salem (a really city, but not a college town). As you saw when you visited, Wake is seperate from the city and self-sufficient.

Similarities-
Education- You really are going to get an equally awesome education at both schools.
Social scene- Wake has a social scene! It is a really fun school! Granted, since it's not as big in size as UNC, the social scene is going to be different, but that doesn't mean it's worse.
Sports- huge school pride. Wake just won the ACC championship in football, and the school loves the bball team. UNC has an awesome bball team, and the school loves it equally as much.

That being said.. you need to figure out what YOU want. I visited Wake and UNC the same week. I hated UNC...hated actually isn't a strong enough word. It was not for me-- too big, too spread out, I could go on and on. But! I am not everyone. Obviously, there are people who LOVE UNC and think it's the greatest place in the world. I am absolutely obsessed with Wake Forest--and after visiting it was told by a friend's mom that Wake reminded her of a "big cow pasture with random pretty buildings on it".

So the point of this long ramble is.. go visit UNC and see for yourself which you like better. You really can't go wrong.

Both school have great academics + ACC sports. I'd visit both to make a decision. Personally, I like smaller private schools but both schools look like they offer a great college expierence.

theyre completely different schools...the question is would you rather go to a large university or basically an LAC...id pick Wake for undergrad experience though

One thing to be aware of is that Wake is notorious for grade deflation.

I wouldn't let that be part of the decision. If it's that notorious, anyone that needs to know, is going to know.

I feel this is one of those kinds of decisions where no one's input can really be as helpful as your gut feel.

You will get ALOT farther with a Wake Forest education than an UNC one in Business. The Wake Forest business school is reknown, and people who graduate from it usually get hired immediately by top companies.

That's a bunch of garbage. UNC and Wake place about equally.
