Wake Forest Univ. and Presidential Scholarship

Hey CC, I need a little advice! So Thursday I had an interview with Wake Forest University that went over very well. ^^; The interviewer told me to email him about a music-related scholarship called the Presidential Scholarship, that I had known about for a little while but hadn't applied because the deadline to send in an application had passed. He said that he would talk to the scholarship committee to see if I could send in an application nearly 3 weeks late. I sent him an email.

I talked with my flute teacher, whose the head flautist as Wake, and she says I should not apply because they haven't given woodwinds the scholarship in years because they don't "need" to entice woodwinds/already have enough. She also said that someone else is applying who is much better than me.

The interviewer sent me an email yesterday confirming that they would grant me my request to send in a late application. What should I do? Send in an application? Wouldn't it be seen as "bad" if I were to not do it because he went to the trouble of asking?

send it in, the worst is they reject you.

Definitely send it in. He made the effort to get you that extension, and the worst they can say to you is no.
I’d send it in.
