waking up in the morning, who feels like p diddy?

no but really, list some of your favorite "pop-dance music" at parties

That song by that girl who looked like a cheap hooker in the music video but looks like an expensive hooker in that television show is, unfortunately, stuck in my head.

Leighton whatever.

This title’s namesake is one of my favorites. I also love “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas (but it’s getting old!), “Just Dance” by Lady Gaga, and “I Know You Want Me” by that guy. They played “Love Story” at a wedding recently and it worked surprisingly well.

LOL Tik Tok is a great drunk dance jam. Also: Party in the USA, Hotel Room Service (trashy as heck), Sexy Chick, Empire Sate of Mind (when I was in NY, everyone loved it when this song came on.)

I second Empire State of Mind and Party in the USA

All of the above + Whatcha Say, and 90’s classics.

Also Sexy B****, Whine Up, Bedrock, and Salt Shaker

Day and Night

I think they could do with some hardcore lyrical rap in dance parties, but meh.

^^^That would completely kill the vibe most of the times. I like lyrical rap, but I wouldn’t want to walk into a party and hear a new Nas record.

You have to be discerning of course – find something with the right rhythm, and appropriate accompaniment.

I just think that dancing to an aural assault of lyrics, line after line being delivered smoothly, is just fly. As opposed to the same line being repeated 20 times?

It’s possible, but I’d rather sample the good stuff while I’m at home alone, rather than having to strain to hear incoherent lines, which are fighting for attention with the bass. There’s certain instances in which more lyrical records would come in to play (break dancing would be one, but that’s not really a huge art form anymore), but for the most part, you probably just want to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

What kind of parties are we talking about here? Like big frat parties? Underground apartment parties?

You would not believe how much I feel like P diddy this morning.

There are also some good older songs – Get Low, Crazy in Love, Lose Control, Wipe Me Down. Mims too. Lady Gaga.

Meet me halfway - Black Eyed Peas

I feel like Lindsay Lohan this morning.
Dirty and I can’t find my underwear.

Asher Roth - I Love College!

i brush my teeth with a bottle of jack
