is it possible to walk on.???

It is possible, but not easy. There have been a few football players who made the team as walk-ons in the past few years. You can also be a “preferred walk-on” which, I assume, means you get a little more attention/opportunity.

Of course, the downside of being a walk-on is that there’s a difference in scholarship money. I don’t think walk-ons get any scholarship money, but I could be wrong about that.

A PSU walk-on was drafted this weekend. Preferred walk-on is guaranteed spot on roster for one year. Walk-ons do not receive any athletic scholarships for that year but could in future.

It certainly isnt easy…The PSU walkon who was drafted tho also holds two schools records in receiving ;)

You didn’t say what sport you wanted to walk-on to. Some sports would be easier than others. Have you contacted the coach of the sport in which you are interested? I am sure he/she would be happy to discuss the possibility of walking on and what would be required.

I wasnt talking about football. I was talking about xc(men’s cross country) , and distance in track(aka long distance )

Query the coach and send your times. You may be lucky and get a tryout.
